Frequently asked questions

Referrals:
People can refer themselves for an initial free consultation and referrals from other professionals are welcome. I am a registered member of BACP and adhere to their ethical framework. I offer individual, face to face or telephone or online counselling.
Appointments:
Initial consultation is carried out to agree working together. Each counselling session lasts for 50 minutes. Fees are reviewed annually. Appointments can be arranged mutually between client and therapist. The minimum frequency is 1 session per week at the same time each week. The maximum frequency is 3 sessions per week at the same times each week.
Confidentiality:
During the counselling session, I will respect your confidentiality, though there are a few exceptions to this:
I have your permission to disclose information to others where necessary. I am required to do so by a court of law. If you are involved in a criminal activity which may be harmful to another person or yourself. No taping of sessions from either participant unless both agreed.
GP Information:
Changing Directions will need GP details, however I would not be contacting GP without your consent.
Supervision:
It is a professional requirement for therapists to have supervision for the client and therapist well-being, the identity of the client is always protected.
Parking and facilities:
Yes, Parking is available.
